Programmer I


A Programmer I designs and maintains software applications.  S/He often speaks with customers to gather user requests for different features to improve speed, performance and usability.  S/He also conducts system tests, troubleshoots customer issues and corrects software defects.  Other duties include: creating customer software manuals, project documentation, and developing prototypes for new software technologies.

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunications), Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • With one to two (1-2) years’ of computer programming experience. With exposure to any of the following technologies: Powerbuilder, Delphi, C#.NET, VB.NET, C, C++, Objective-C, XML, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Python, ColdFusion, Java, JavaScript, VBScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, ActionScript, iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows, OSX, MS Access, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, IIS, TCP/IP and firewalls, SharePoint, Visual Studio, Eclipse.
  • Understands object-oriented programming (OOP) and computer science foundations, such as memory management and low-level algorithm performance.
  • Experience in database technologies, namely, but not limited to:  Sybase, Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL (SQL profiler proficient).
  • Has accounting background. Experience in supporting one or many accounting systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX), an advantage.
  • Knowledge of software implementation best practices
  • Understands security standards, with knowledge of information accessibility guidelines and data protection practices.
  • Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management, analytical, and planning skills.  Able to deliver high quality tools and applications within set timelines; customer service driven with a problem-resolution focus.  
  • Able to communicate in English, both oral and written; able to communicate in the Visayan or Tagalog dialect.
